Blacklion is a crisp and flavourful 40% abv vodka, with a full body, an impossibly smooth finish and warming afternotes. Every delicious bottle is made here in the Cotswolds, using milk from Black Lion sheep. The vodka has tasting notes of edelweiss, which come from fermenting and triple-distilling the whey left over after cheese-making – sugars-rich whey that would otherwise go to waste. As a sipping vodka, it is best served sub-zero, straight from the freezer over ice and outdoors. Or you can enjoy its unique and delicious flavour in a cocktail.

Vodkas are typically made from potato or grain or even grapes. But an original vodka from the Cotswolds somehow just had to be made from sheep’s milk. Born in The Cotswolds, Made for an Adventure.
Tim and Tan Spittle, founders of BlackLion Vodka, turned their passion for adventure into creating a one-of-a-kind vodka made from sheep’s milk. They knew that Sheaf House Farm, which Tim’s parents bought over 50 years ago, couldn’t survive as a small Cotswold sheep farm without exploring new ventures. After a four-year journey working with skilled local distillers, they perfected BlackLion Vodka. The success of their creation, marked by rave reviews and international awards, has been beyond their expectations.
Handcrafted in The Cotswolds, Blacklion Vodka is triple distilled and filtered using whey from pure sheep’s milk. With a purity of fresh mountain snow, it has been developed to ensure that each sip is as crisp, clean and silky smooth as the last.
What makes Blacklion sheep’s milk vodka doubly rare is the milk from Tim & Tan’s unique flock of Black Lions, all bred and grazed on the vodka farm’s limestone pastures. From lambing and grazing to milking, cheese-making and collecting the whey to fermenting and distilling, each bottle of Cotswold BLACKLION takes 2 years to craft.
